Rotorua golfer Danny Lee has been unable to break through for a maiden victory on the PGA Tour despite a flurry of birdies, finishing tied for third at the latest event in Mexico.

Lee stormed into the lead early in the final round, rattling off an impressive seven straight birdies to shoot 29 on the front nine and take a one-shot advantage from the American Shawn Stefani.
However his momentum stalled on the back nine with bogeys on 12, 15 and 18 taking him to four under for the round and 15 under for the tournament.
Another American, Charley Hoffman, claimed the win at 17 under, one shot clear of Stefani and two clear of Lee.
Fellow New Zealander Tim Wilkinson finished in a tie for 29th after a final round two under 69.
