Two new caps have been named in the All Blacks Sevens side for the next month's World Series tournaments in Dubai and South Africa.

Highlanders back Kurt Baker returns to the team for the first time since the World Cup in Moscow last year.

Coach Gordon Tietjens says the opening tournament on the Gold Coast was disappointing and while the side hasn't done particularly well in Dubai over the last couple of years, he's confident of turning that around.

All Blacks Sevens: Kurt Baker, Scott Curry, Ambrose Curtis, Sam Dickson, DJ Forbes (c), Gillies Kaka, Tim Mikkelson, Declan O'Donnell, Sherwin Stowers, Murphy Taramai, Joe Webber, Sam Vaka.
