Starting the final round with a two shot lead, Millar fired one under the card to claim victory by three shots with a tournament total of 18-under 270.

Millar says he was relieved after a really tough day where the wind was strong and blowing in all directions at Remuera.

It's a special victory for the 38-year-old from Canberra - after 16 years playing professionally it's his first victory on the PGA Tour of Australasia.

Millar has been the in-form player with three top-10 finishes so far in 2015 including a runner-up finish at the Queensland PGA Championship to New Zealander Ryan Fox.

Josh Geary finished the leading New Zealander and claimed the Sir Bob Charles Cup for his efforts.

Geary was tied runner-up on 15 under the card with Victorians Kristopher Mueck and Geoff Drakeford.

Rounding out the top five on the leaderboard on 12 under 276 was Jared Pender (NZ), Azuma Yano (JPN) and Ryan Fox (NZ).

The PGA Tour of Australasia now heads to Queenstown for the New Zealand Open to be played at The Hills and Millbrook Resort from Thursday.
