Pakistan make World Cup quarters

Pakistan booked a quarter-final against Australia at the Cricket World Cup after beating Ireland by 7 wickets at the Adelaide Oval on Friday, while Ireland have been eliminated.

Ireland's captain William Porterfield won the toss and led the way with a century, but with little support the Irish were dismissed for 237 and Pakistan achieved their target with nearly four overs to spare.

Pakistan now play Australia in their quarter-final in Adelaide on Friday.

The New Zealand-West Indies quarter-final is in Wellington on Saturday.
