The Chiefs will be without utility back Tim Nanai-Williams when they face the Sharks in Durban this weekend while Sonny Bill Williams is in doubt for the Super Rugby clash.

Nanai-Willams is on his way home after breaking a finger during their win over the Stormers, while SBW is still having a few issues after taking a knock to the head.

Williams left the field for a concussion test during the first half of the Stormers match, but did return.

Chiefs assistant coach Tom Coventry says he hasn't recovered as quickly as they would like and is suffering from headaches.

Meanwhile head coach Dave Rennie says he's happy with last weekend's win over the Stormers, but he wants to see his team develop some consistency over the next few weeks of Super Rugby.

The local conference challengers the Hurricanes, Highlanders and Crusaders all won last weekend, as well as the competition's overall leaders the ACT Brumbies.

The Hurricanes lead the New Zealand conference and sit second in the overall standings, level on 18 points with the third placed Chiefs.

The Highlanders are fifth overall.

Rennie says it's not enough to just win one game, then drop the next.

The Chiefs play South African side the Sharks in Durban on Sunday morning.
