Former Black Caps batsman Jesse Ryder has been suspended from the final round of the Plunket Shield four-day competition over offensive language towards an umpire.
Ryder swore loudly and at length after being given out caught at first slip while playing for Otago against Northern Districts in Hamilton on March 21st.

He felt he hadn't hit the ball and it had come off his pads.
But ND and, more importantly the umpire thought differently, prompting the tirade, and now, the ban.
Ryder didn't dispute a charge of serious dissent and breaching New Zealand Cricket's code of conduct, including the use of offensive language, and he' s been banned for the 10th round of the Plunket Shield, scheduled for April 1st to the 4th.
Ryder's had a somewhat chequered disciplinary history that saw him in and out of the New Zealand team and contributed towards his missing the World Cup squad.

He's boxing in a charity bout this weekend against blogger Cameron Slater.
Ryder fought once before in another Duco Events production against broadcaster Mark Watson back in 2012, easily beating the talk radio host in a first round domination.
