Hewitt 8th in Yokohama

Canterbury's Andrea Hewitt has finished 8th at the latest triathlon world series event in Yokohama.

The New Zealander finished two minutes behind the winner from America Gwen Jorgenson,

who claimed victory in Japan for the third year in a row.

Hewitt is 3rd in this season's rankings behind the world number one Jorgenson, who's undefeated in nine consecutive world series events.

Auckland's Rebecca Spence came 20th.

In the men's race, the world number one Javier Gomez Noya of Spain defeated Britain's Alastair Brownlee by two seconds in a thrilling sprint finish.
