The 28-year-old left-armer, who has appeared in 35 one-day internationals and 16 T20 internationals, is currently playing in the Indian Premier League.

McClenaghan will replace South Africa bowler Kyle Abbott at Lord's.

Middlesex chief Angus Fraser Mitchell's style gives him a point of difference, his skill has allowed him to take wickets wherever he's played.

Fraser, the club's director of cricket, added replacing one high-quality overseas fast bowler with another was not easy.

McClenaghan, who has taken 14 wickets at an average of 22.50 in 10 appearances for Mumbai Indians in the IPL this year, will join Middlesex at the start of July.

He will be available to make his debut against Sussex at Lord's on July 2nd.

Abbott will be with Middlesex until the end of June, when he joins up with South Africa for their tour of Bangladesh.
