The New Zealand fast bowler Mitchell McClenaghan was the leading wicket taker for Mumbai as he helped his side claim a 41 run victory over Chennai to win the Indian Premier League cricket title.
The left-arm seamer was the only New Zealander playing in the final and took 3 wickets for 25 runs from his four overs as Mumbai snared a commanding win over the Stephen Fleming coached Chennai in Kolkata.
With an economy rate of 6.25 McClenaghan produced the best bowling figures of the final, including a remarkable 15 dot-balls and conceding just four boundaries.
Batting first Mumbai reached 202-5 from their 20 overs on the back of half centuries from the West Indies' Lendl Simmons and India's Rohit Sharma.
Opener Simmons smashed 68 off 45 balls with eight fours and three sixes while Sharma (50), and Kieron Pollard (36 not out) and Ambati Rayudu (36) all contributed.
In reply Chennai, coached by the former Black Caps captain Fleming, could only manage 161-8 from their 20 overs.
McClenaghan took the wicket of Australian veteran Mike Hussey for four and the vital scalp of West Indian star Dwayne Bravo for 9.
McClenaghan also struck late in his last over to remove Ravichandran Ashwin.
The victory was a repeat of Mumbai's 2013 success when they beat Chennai in the final.
McClenaghan will join the Black Caps in England for the one-day series and the one-off Twenty20 clash before taking up a T20 deal with English county side Middlesex.
