The New Zealand Indy Car driver Scott Dixon failed to convert his pole position into victory as he finished fourth at this morning's Indy 500.

Colombian Juan Pablo Montoya came from the back of field to win the 99th running of the historic race in Indianapolis.
Dixon, who led several times during the race and was in front with five laps remaining, says his car simply ran into a few problems as the chequered flag neared.
"When I really needed to go you know I just couldn't turn the car. We were fighting a little bit with the car overheating so we were trying to go through different ignition maps and there was definitely a lot going on. And as the laps were counting down you know I was trying to make something happen but congratulations to Juan, you know he drove a hell of a race."
Montoya's Penske Racing team mate Australian Will Power was second and American Charlie Kimball third.
