Captain Suzie Bates got the visitors off to a good start, making 42 off 85 balls.

She was only one of three batsmen to make it to double figures though, as the New Zealand side was all out for 118 through 41 overs.

The target was never an issue for the home side, Thirush Kamini top scoring for India on 62 not out.

India chased the total down within 28 overs to win the one day series 3-2.

The New Zealand White Ferns now take on India in a three-match Twenty20 series starting on Saturday.
