Important week for Nalbandian

Three New Zealanders will continue to try and squeeze into the Heineken Open tennis tournament which begins in Auckland tomorrow.

Oliver Statham, Logan MacKenzie and Marcus Daniell will be involved in today's second round of qualifiers with one of four spots open to them.

Statham's brother ,Rubin, and fellow New Zealander and wild card recipient, Dan King -Turner, have drawn to meet in each other in the first round.

Meanwhile former world number three David Nalbandian is looking to the Open to re-boot his career after

hip surgery curtailed play for the bulk of last year.

Nalbandian,a wildcard entrant, says he is looking to put his game back together in Auckland.
