Wins for Auckland and ND in Twenty20 cricket

6:30 am on 11 January 2010

Central Districts have suffered their first loss in the domestic Twenty20 cricket competition, going down to hosts Auckland by seven wickets.

Central scored 155 for nine, but Auckland were always ahead of the run rate, reaching their target with eight balls to spare, with Gareth Hopkins top scoring with an unbeaten 71.

Northern Districts scored a six off the last ball to beat Canterbury by a wicket in Christchurch.

Rain prevented any play in the Otago-Wellington match in Dunedin.

Central still lead the competition from Otago.
