New Zealand basketballer Steven Adams says he'll need to be at his best to secure a starting spot for the Oaklahoma City Thunder.
The Thunder began their pre-season training camp on Wednesday under new coach Billy Donovan, who has replaced Scott Brooks.
Adams, who's in his third season with the NBA team, says he his goal is to get up to speed.
"My main focus is just to understand the system as fast as possible," said Adams.
"We've got new coaches so I really wan't to learn that [sytem] quickly, and then on top of that to make sure everyone is on the same page."
The Thunder's first game of the NBA pre-season is against the Minnesota Timberwolves next week.
