British 5th seed Andy Murray has advanced to the quarter-finals of the Australian Open tennis championship in Melbourne for the first time in five attempts with a straight-sets victory over American John Isner.
Murray won the first set in a tie-break before taking the second 6-3 and the third 6-2 to set up a quarter-final against either defending champion Rafael Nadal or Croatian Ivo Karlovic.
Murray's previous best campaigns at Melbourne Park were fourth-round exits in 2007 and 2009.
Isner won the Heineken Open in Auckland earlier this month.
