Tsonga to meet Federer in semis

7:23 am on 28 January 2010

Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has beaten third seed Novak Djokovic in five sets at the Australian tennis Open to set up a semi-final clash with world number one Roger Federer.

Tsonga took three and a half hours to overcome the Serb 7-6 6-7 1-6 6-3 6-1, with the last two sets taking little more than an hour.

Djokovic became ill during the match and had to leave the court early in the fourth set, but Tsonga says having to deal with unexpected health issues is part of the game, just like other physical issues like problems with your forehand.

Tsonga's win is in part revenge over Djokovic for his 2008 Australian Open final loss.
