Taylor proud of his winning CD side

Ross Taylor was the star but he's deflecting the praise onto his Central Districts cricket team-mates after thrashing Auckland by 78 runs in the domestic Twenty20 final in New Plymouth this afternoon.

The win also guarantees Central a place at the lucrative Twenty20 Champions League in India later this year.

Set 207 to win, Auckland came nowhere close, all out for 128 in the 17th over with Taylor taking the final catch after a great day with the bat.

His knock of 80 came off just 30 balls and included eight sixes, but Taylor thinks the short boundaries at Pukekura Park had something to do with that and he's happier for his team-mates that they won than for himself.

Taylor says the win and the resulting Indian bonus is just reward for the stalwarts of Central and the hard work they've put in.

And he says it's also great for a small cricket association like Central to make it onto the world stage.
