Massa sets fastest pre-season testing time

Formula One driver Felipe Massa has set the fastest time in pre-season testing, returning to the track after being seriously injured in an accident at last year's Hungarian Grand Prix.

The Ferrari driver says he's happy to be back on the track after spending so much time watching the races on television, and completed the fastest of his 103 laps in 1 minute and 12 seconds.

Massa suffered severe head injuries in July when he was struck at about 250 kph by a spring which had flown off Rubens Barrichello's Brawn car.

But the Brazilian says he feels physically fit and is ready to race again.

Sauber driver Pedro de la Rosa clocked the second-fastest time, while seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher came in third for Mercedes.
