The Wellington Phoenix could drop to sixth on the A-League football ladder tonight without even playing a match.
The North Queensland Fury will host the Newcastle Jets in a round 25 catch-up game, with less than two weeks of the regular season still to play.
Newcastle are currently sixth on the table but on equal points with the Phoenix, and a win tonight would propel the Jets into fourth and leave the Phoenix on the cusp of making the play-offs.
The Phoenix will play Gold Coast United on Sunday and need at least one win from their final two matches to remain in strong play-off contention.
