The New Zealand Fed Cup women's tennis team has been handed a tough draw in the Asia-Oceania group one competition which starts in Kuala Lumpur today.
Third seeds New Zealand have drawn top seeds Japan and unseeded nations Indonesia and Korea in Pool A.
The New Zealand team of Sacha Jones, Marina Erakovic and Ellen Barry play Korea today in the round robin play, Japan tomorrow and Indonesia on Friday.
The top two teams of each Pool will playoff on Saturday with the winner being promoted to the World Group II playoffs in April.
