Auckland stay top in one day cricket competition

Auckland and Canterbury have tied their domestic one-day cricket match in Auckland.

Canterbury scored 287 for seven with Michael Papps making 122. Auckland drew level with four balls remaining, but couldn't get the winning run - they lost their last wicket going for a run on the last ball.

Scott Styris made 77 for Auckland, who remain top of the standings.

Northern Districts beat Central Districts by two wickets in Whangarei. The hosts reached their target of 241 with three balls to spare, Kane Williamson making 77 in the run chase.

Wellington play Otago at the Basin Reserve tomorrow.
