Lee loses opening round of WGC match play

Danny Lee has started his World Golf Championship match play tournament in Austin Texas with a loss to 2011 Masters champion Charl Schwartzel.

The New Zealander lost his opening match on the 18th hole after staging a fightback from two-down midway through the back nine.

He'll now face American Brandt Snedeker in his second group game.

Snedeker won his first mach of the tournament against fellow American Charley Hoffman two & one.

Australian golfer and world number two Jason Day got his WGC match play campaign off to a winning start, comfortably beating 2010 U.S Open Champion Graeme McDowell three & two.

American world number one Jordan Speith also got off to a winning start, he beat Walshman Jamie Donaldson three & two.
