McCullum sets up IPL win for Gujarat

A rapid fire half-century from former Black Caps batsmen Brendon McCullum has helped Gujarat to a one-run win over Delhi in their Indian Premier League cricket clash.

Batting first McCullum blasted 60 runs off 36 balls to top score for his side with fellow opener Dwayne Smith smashing 53 off 30 as the visitors reached 172 for 6.

McCullum's innings included three sixes and six fours.

In reply, Delhi needed four runs off the final ball to win but could only manage two to finish on 171 for five, one run short of Gujarat's total.

South African all-rounder Chris Morris almost snatched victory for Delhi, clubbing 82 off 32 balls in an innings which included eight sixes.

Gujarat sit at the top of the IPL competition after six matches.
