New Zealand's top tennis player Marina Erakovic has made a first round exit at the Pattaya Open in Thailand.
The unseeded Erakovic went out 7-6 7-5 to the Austrian fifth seed Sybille Bammer, follwing another r New Zealander, Sacha Jones, who lost earlier in three sets to Italian Alberta Brianti.
And the Indian star Sania Mirza also failed to reach the second round , slumping 3-6 6-4 6-3 to Tatjana Malek of Germany.
Mirza finished runner-up to Vera Zvonareva last year.
