Athletics' governing body the IAAF has rejected claims by the BBC that its president Sebastian Coe misled a British government investigation into doping.

The IAAF has also denied Lord Coe presidential campaign was aided by the son of his predecessor in the role.
The BBC's Panorama programme claims Lord Coe was aware of the corruption allegations within the IAAF before they became public but did not disclose them when he appeared before a British Parliamentary Committee.
The programme also claims Coe had been guided in his presidential campaign by former IAAF marketing official Papa Massata Diack, the son of former president Lamine Diack, both of who are the subject of corruption investigations.
In a statement the IAAF accepted Coe was sent emails regarding allegations of corruption but said he did not read them and passed them onto the IAAF ethics commission to consider.
