Queensland rugby league coach Kevin Walters admits Maroons prop Josh McGuire will get belted by NSW in tonight's State of Origin dead rubber for his social media sledging.

McGuire became public enemy No.1 in NSW for tweeting "Losers have meetings winners have parties lol" after Queensland won game two 26-16, clinching their 10th series win in 11 years.

Walters said he sat McGuire down to discuss the ramifications of his tweet - and the results weren't good.

"We have had a little chat. He is aware of what is coming his way," Walters said.

"He knows he will get belted and then belted again.

"But he's a big boy. He can handle himself."

McGuire will start on the bench for tonight's third and final match in Sydney after Queensland veteran prop Nate Myles returned from a knee injury.

But Walters said McGuire would need to brace himself as soon as he enters ANZ Stadium.

"When Josh McGuire runs out I am thinking there will be a lot of booing going on," Walters smiled.

"You can understand the angst it has caused amongst them - but Origin is about passion."
