1:05 pm on 18 February 2010

Tiger Woods' agent says the golf superstar will break his silence tomorrow night and speak publicly for the first time since revelations of marital infidelity ignited a media firestorm.

The 34-year-old is to speak from the clubhouse at the TPC Sawgrass headquarters of the US PGA Tour at Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.

His agent Mark Steinberg says Woods will talk to a small group of friends, colleagues and close associates about his past and what he plans next, as well as apologising for his behaviour but bwon't take questions.

His long awaited public appearance will come in the middle of the WGC Accenture Match Play Championship in Arizona.

Accenture was one of the sponsors which dropped Woods.
