The Australian code hopper Jarryd Hayne has signed a two-year National Rugby League deal with the Gold Coast.
Hayne has not played in the NRL since he left Parramatta to try his hand at America's NFL at the end of 2014.
The 28-year-old then left the NFL earlier this year to pursue a career with the Fiji Sevens team but came up short of making the Olympic team.
Now he's bound for the Gold Coast on a two year deal reported to be worth 1.3 millon a season with third-party components included.
That offer trumps one Parramatta were believed to have been preparing, which weighed in at (NZ) $840,000 a season over three years.
The signing is a major coup for the Gold Coast, who still have significant salary cap space left after missing out last year on luring halfback Daly Cherry-Evans when he walked out on a lucrative deal.
