Launching in February 2017, the Brisbane Global Tens will feature all ten Australian and New Zealand Super Rugby franchises plus four of the best teams from across the globe including the star-studded Toulon, the Blue Bulls of South Africa, Samoa and the Panasonic Wild Knights from Japan.

The Ten aside format will combine the space and speed of Sevens, with the trademark physicality athleticism and tactics of traditional 15-a-side rugby.

Around 300 players are expected to take part in the tournament, which will feature 10 minute halves, five man srums and unlimited subs.

The tournament will coincide with pre-season training for the Super Rugby competition.
