The former Sharks captain lock Johann Muller has overcome a neck injury and returns to the starting line-up for Friday's Super 14 game against the Crusaders in Christchurch.
New recruit, the loose forward Willem Alberts will start his first Super 14 game for the Sharks.
In the only other change from the side that lost to the Cheetahs, captain John Smit returns to tighthead prop.
The match is the first of five on the Sharks' gruelling five-week tour.
Yesterday it was announced that Crusaders lock Isaac Ross will miss the match after suffering an ankle injury at training.
He's been replaced in the squad by Tasman player Joe Wheeler.
