Melbourne Rebels sign up Garden-Bachop

The Wellington player Jackson Garden-Bachop has signed on as the final member of the Melbourne Rebels for next year's Super Rugby season.

Garden-Bachop, 22, is the son of former All Black five eighth Stephen Bachop, and nephew of ex-All Blacks halfback Graeme Bachop, has agreed to a two-year deal with the Melbourne-based club.

A versatile five-eighth, Garden-Bachop was a New Zealand Schoolboys representative in 2012 and New Zealand Under-20s representative in 2014 and he played for Wellington in the recent New Zealand provincial competition, when he was named supporters club player of the season.

Garden-Bachop will join former Wellington loose forward Scott Fugistaller at the club.

While another Wellington player, Jason Woodward, who has moved to Bristol has previously played for the Rebels.
