New Zealand has started the age group bowls test series against Australia with a 3-1 win on the first day in Auckland.
The Under 25 and Under 18 men won and so did the Under 18 women.
The Under- 25 men started with 14-12 and 21-20 wins in the fours and singles before taking the pairs 21-11.
The under 25 women lost the singles and fours but won the pairs and triples in the afternoon and National Coach Dave Edwards says they fought well in very close games.
The Under-18 Men won 4-2 with two close Ssngles matches after a morning loss in the pairs and after losing the singles the under 18 women also won 4-2.
The three test series ends on Sunday.
