The New Zealand cricket captain Kane Williamson is urging his side not to try too hard as they try and recover from a poor year of test cricket.
The Black Caps play the first of seven tests at home this summer, when they begin a two test series against Pakistan in Christchurch tomorrow.

Coming off a three nil series loss to India and having also lost series to Australia and South Africa this year Williamson knows his side is down on confidence.
"Coming off the back of losses it's never nice. ...it can be in the back of your mind a little bit and that's the challenge to get back on track with want we want to achieve, so there's always pressure in professional sport so it's important that we deal with that (pressure) well and still continue to play with freedom, not try too hard and express our skills," he said.

Williamson has confirmed Auckland opening batsman Jeet Raval will make his test debut, having replaced provincial teammate Martin Guptill in the Black Caps squad.
He said they haven't settled on their final playing eleven preferring to wait and see what conditions are like on Thursday morning before settling on a bowling lineup.
