Ireland have stayed in the hunt to retain the Six Nations rugby championship with a tense 20-16 victory over England at Twickenham.

An early try by Tommy Bowe and another in the second half by fellow winger Keith Earls, both created by first five Jonathan Sexton, put the champions 13-6 ahead but a Dan Cole score levelled it at 13-13.

Jonny Wilkinson edged England ahead with a drop goal but a second try for Bowe six minutes from time secured Ireland's sixth win in seven games against England.

France lead the standings with three wins out of three but Ireland still have a chance with home games against Wales and Scotland to come.
