Both of Harrison's goals came in the first half while Malaysia's solitary score was posted in the second.

The match was the fifth and final meeting between the two sides in a week long series that New Zealand dominated in the Taranaki town of Stratford.

Saturday's, 5-1 victory by the Black Sticks secured the series win before today's dead rubber encounter.

New Zealand won four out of five games against the Malaysians who only scored four goals in the series compared to the Black Sticks' 12.

The Black Sticks won Monday's opening game 3-0 and the second match on Tuesday 2-0 before losing game three on Thursday 0-1.
