Danish third seed Caroline Wozniacki is the latest seed to exit the tournament, losing her quarter final match to Germany's Julia Goerges 6-1, 3-6, 4-6.

Top seeds Serena and Venus Williams are already out of the tournament.

First to make the semi-finals today was American Lauren Davis, who beat Czech fourth seed Barbora Strycova 6-1, 6-7.

Latvian Yelena Ostapenko was second to confirm her place in the semi-finals, she beat the woman who upset top seed Serena Williams the day before - American Madison Brengle 7-5, 6-3.

Croatian Ana Kunjah made it through in rather unspectacular fashion, her opponent, Japanese professional Naomi Osaka pulled out just three games into the match with a wrist injury.
