The Joseph Parker and Hughie Fury camps have been unable to come to an agreement over their WBO Heavyweight Championship bout, forcing the governing body to step in.

Duco Director David Higgins, who along with Top Rank's Bob Arum and Hughie Fury's British promoter Frank Warren, have conducted intense negotiations over the last month but have not been able to reach an agreement.

The World Boxing Organisation has stepped in and ordered the heavyweight title clash between Parker and Fury to go to a purse bid.

The minimum acceptable bid for the Heavyweight Title bout is 1.38 million dollars.

As decided by last year's WBO convention in Puerto Rico, the purse for Champion Parker will be 60 percent and for the Challenger 40 percent.

A purse bid is an initial step in arranging a professional match, involving any promoter.

It'll take place on February 2nd New Zealand time in Puerto Rico.

The New Zealander Parker won the WBO heavyweight belt by beating Mexican Andy Ruiz in Auckland in December.
