Crouser set an Olympic record in his win in Rio and will lineup against New Zealand's best and another couple of internationals in meetings in Christchurch and Auckland next month.

Another American, two-time world indoor champion Ryan Whiting along with New Zealand's Olympic bronze medalist Tom Walsh, and Olympic finalists Jacko Gill of Auckland and Australian Damien Birkinhead will also take part.

New Zealand seconday schools champion Ryan Ballantyne of Waikato, who bettered Tom Walsh's junior mark in December, is also in the field.

Crouser will do a bit of hunting and fishing while he's in New Zealand.
