New Zealand completed an unbeaten first day at the Sydney Sevens tournament after beating Scotland 14-7 last night.

Their reward for finishing top of Pool C will be another quarter-final against Fiji who beat them at the same stage in last weekend's tournament in Wellington.
Earlier, the All Blacks Sevens team defeated Papua New Guinea 31-7 and Australia 26-14 in pool play.
Scotland scored first with Gavin Lowe crossing after New Zealand were penalised for tackling a man without the ball.
Finally, with just over a minute remaining in the first term, DJ Forbes made a try-saving tackle on Mark Robertson close to New Zealand's goal-line, which led to a Scott Curry try.
The scores were tied 7-7 at half-time.
Regan Ware's introduction brought immediate reward after a line-out win. He had a strong run down the right flank and threw inside where the ball deflected off a Scotland hand into the hands of Tim Mikkelson who raced untroubled to score.
Tim Mikkelson said it had been challenging weather and they had not played in heat like that in Sydney for a while.
"You need to get the ball to beat Fiji and if we can get the ball from the kick-offs we can make it a contest and really go forward on attack," he said.
In the other quarter-finals, Australia will play Wales, England will play Argentina and the United States will play South Africa.
