Black Ferns swept by Jilaroos

The Kiwi Ferns have lost their three-match series with Australia at the Auckland Nines for the first time.

The Jilaroos completed a 3-0 clean sweep of the Kiwi Ferns, after winning both games on the final day of the tournament 8-0 and 14-4.

On day one they won 20-4.

It was the Jillaroos' first series win since the trans-Tasman women's competition was introduced to the Nines in 2015.

Jillaroos player Chelsea Baker was named most valuable player of the women's series.
