The Samoa rugby selectors have named a wider training squad following the Samoa Tri Nation Series at Waitemata Rugby Club in Auckland, to prepare for the upcoming Pacific Rugby Cup in May and the Pacific Nations Cup in June this year.
The Manu Samoa head coach, Fuimaono Titi Tafua, says the availability of players and injuries is always a concern hence the need for a wider training squad to be selected.
The Rugby World Cup is only a few months away and such tournaments as the Samoa Tri Nation Series allows selectors the opportunity to see some new talents in action.
This year, Samoa Barbarian won the Senior Division, with New Zealand Samoa winning the U20 division and the Women's Division.
Players selected are required to contact their Samoa union representatives to confirm their availability.
