Foran may not make Warriors line-up

A niggling shoulder injury is casting doubt over Kieran Foran's debut for the Warriors in the NRL.

Foran has been cleared by the game's bosses to make his comeback in the third- round match against the Bulldogs next week.

However, Warriors chief executive Jim Doyle says the 26-year-old Kiwis stand-off is still not fully recovered from a long-standing shoulder complaint.

Doyle told The Sydney Morning Herald Foran's involvement in the Friday night game in Dunedin can't be guaranteed.

"We've known about the shoulder thing for a while, but he's getting better every day," Doyle said.

"The next couple of weeks are big weeks for him because he's doing full contact and wrestling.

"He's still quite convinced that he will be there for round three but if it's not round three it will be round four or pretty close."

When he returns, it will be the first game since Foran's public fall from grace last year.

The Auckland-born player was admitted to hospital following a prescription drug overdose in the wake of the breakdown of his relationship with long-term partner.

He also came under scrutiny for his relationship with former brothel owner Eddie Hayson, a key figure in an on-going police investigation into match fixing.

After walking out on his multi-million dollar, four-year deal with Parramatta, he linked with the Warriors.

Speaking publicly for the first time since his move, Foran last month appeared briefly on stage at the Warriors' season launch.

"It's great to get out of Sydney and get home around extended family and just get back to my roots and be around big love and just start afresh at a new club," he said.

The NRL approved Foran's return last month, having satisfied the integrity unit he was in a fit and proper state of mind and sorted out his personal life.

This week the Warriors play the Melbourne Storm in Auckland on Friday night.
