New Zealand driver Scott Dixon has finished third at the season opening Indy Car race in Florida.
The four-times series champion finished behind Simon Pagenaud and race winner Sebastien Bourdais.
Dixon qualified second fastest for this morning's opening race of the season in St Petersburg.
Dixon, a four time indycar champion, drove his Honda powered Chip Ganassi team to a qualifying time of 01:01.2219.
In pole position was the Australian Team Penske driver, Will Power.
Dixon felt he could have been fastest in qualifying.
"We have a super fast car and should have been on pole. I just messed up a little on my fastest lap there. I'm obviously disappointed, but the team has four fast cars. We're working together great with Honda."
