The former Warriors captain Steve Price won't get excited about Sonny Bill Williams' mooted return to the rugby league until he hears his former Bulldogs teammate says he wants to return to the 13-man code.
Williams is off contract at the French rugby club Toulon in May and has attracted interest from the All Blacks, the Warriors and the Newcastle Knights.
But Price says there are plenty of hurdles, including the Bulldogs agreeing to a deal to release the 24-year-old from a clause preventing him playing for another NRL club before 2013.
He says while many Bulldogs fans will be angry to see Williams play in the NRL enough time has passed since he walked out on the Bulldogs in August 2008.
The Toulon deal was reportedly worth nearly $2 million a season and Williams would be forced to take a hefty pay cut to play in the NRL again or to play rugby in New Zealand..
