An eye infection has forced world golf number one New Zealander Lydia Ko to pull out of the latest LPGA tournament in Texas.

Ko's agent Michael Kim says pollen has caused an eye infection and she's been advised by a doctor not to wear any contact lenses until the infection clears.

Ko, who was 1-over-par after two rounds and tied for 49th, could potentially lose her number one ranking Thailand's if Ariya Jutanugarn, who is currently in second place, goes on to win the tournament.
