Phoenix will play with force despite relaxed build-up

1:50 pm on 13 March 2010

The Wellington Phoenix have had a gentle build-up to tonight's football play-off in Sydney despite a place in the A-League grand final being at stake.

The Phoenix have played two extra-time matches in three weeks and six members had international games in between, so coach Ricki Herbert prescribed a week of lighter training and plenty of down-time.

Central defender Jon McKain, says the players have found it hard to recover from the sheer amount of football.

IN:...... YEAH IT'S HARD...

OUT:... ...THERE'S NO EXCUSES.

DUR:... 18 SECS

Jon McKain is the only change from the 16-man squad which beat Newcastle 3-1, coming back in from suspension at the expense of Costa Barbarouses.
