Australian batsman Mike Hussey says he hopes New Zealand's cricketers can respect Michael Clarke's privacy in the two-test series starting on Friday.
Ricky Ponting's Australian side, and Steve Waugh's team before that, have been infamous at times for their sledging.
Just 11 days ago pace bowler Mitchell Johnson was fined by the ICC Match Referee following a clash of heads with Black Caps batsman Scott Styris, who was also fined for his behaviour.
But Hussey says the personal dramas of Clarke are out of bounds.
Clarke walked out on a five-match one-day international series after two games to rush home to Sydney to sort out his relationship with model Lara Bingle who was involved in a nude-photo scandal.
Their engagement was called off on Friday and Clarke is expected to return to the Australian squad tomorrow in preparation for the first Test at the Basin Reserve.
Hussey says the vice-captain's mental strength will help him shut out his personal issues and concentrate on cricket.
