The Warriors are now within one game of taking the NBA title with an unprecedented perfect run through the playoffs.

Kevin Durant scored a team-high 31 points for the Warriors, as his team pipped LeBron James Cleveland Cavaliers 118-113 in their hometown.

The Warriors have now won 15 games in a row.

They will travel back to Cleveland again on Saturday vying to be the first team to go unbeaten all the way to an NBA finals title.

The Cavaliers were ahead by six points with only about three minutes to play before Durant led the Warriors on an 11 unanswered point run.

Durant's three-pointer over LeBron James head with just 45 seconds remaining gave the Warriors their first lead and silenced what had been a raucous home crowd.

"All I was looking at was the bottom of the net," said Durant who is playing his first season with Golden State.

"I've been working on that shot my whole life."

James led the way for Cleveland with 39 points.

The NBA's best-of-seven championship was billed as the ultimate grudge match between the league's last two champions.
