David Beckham is almost certainly out of the World Cup football finals in June after tearing an achilles playing for AC Milan yesterday.
He was due to have surgery last night in Finland on what his surgeon says is a completely torn tendon, which will take up to four months to fully recover from. AC Milan's chief executive believes Beckham could be out of action for 5-6 months.
Beckham is England's most capped outfield player with 115 appearances, and he was aiming to play in a fourth World Cup.
The World Cup starts on June 11th.
