The veteran Steel captain along with Silver Ferns goal attack Te Paea Selby-Rickit were injured when the Steel's van crashed in Christchurch a couple of weeks ago.

Their injuries have kept them both off the court for the final two rounds of competition but both have been cleared fit to play tonight and return to strengthen an already impressive homeside side.

The Steel have gone through the season unbeaten, with the narrowest winning margin in their three encounters against the Pulse being 13 goals.

Central Pulse coach Yvette McCausland-Durie said her players can't afford to ease their way into the game and will have to be at their best from the outset.

"It is going to be tough. They have a fantastic ability to keep possession and a goal shoot who has a whole lot of space that we have to contest.

"So we have to go out and have some courage early and attack the ball up front."

Tonight's game in Stadium Southland starts at 7.30 pm.
